New year, new start?

I guess I've neglected this blog for quite some time... so on the first day of 2009, I am happy that

1) I got to sleep in
2) it's a nice sunny day
3) I had sparkling cider with breakfast
4) I found another old friend on Facebook
5) I am happy and healthy

Lazy Sunday

1) Fresh watermelon
2) Yoga
3) Spotting a killdeer in the bank parking lot
4) Red velvet cupcake at brunch

Yep, still breathing...

1) Hearing "King of Pain" by the Police on the radio on the way into work
2) Taking my truck into a trusted mechanic to find out that I don't really need the $700+ worth of repairs that the national chain where I got my oil changed claimed I did

Hey, hey, hey, I'm still alive...

1) Waking up to a beautiful cool day after tornado warnings last night
2) A little squirrel out on the lawn this morning
3) Setting up home delivery of locally grown fruits & veggies

1) A blue jay flying down to hop around the lawn as I was leaving for work
2) Another (the same?) blue jay on my balcony tonight, teasing the cats

Wait, how did April get here?

1) The latest book by Mary Roach (author of Spook and Stiff) is titled Bonk - too funny :) On a more serious note, Stiff was very good, so I'll probably check her others out too.
2) Snap peas at the salad bar today, yum!

1) overheard conversation about Boston accents and the pronunciation of heart attack: "a hat is attacking you?"
2) Cute Overload referred to ferrets as "mischievious, burrowing kneesocks-with-eyes"
