Rainy Monday...

Today:
1) having the day off to do whatever I please
2) being able to take a hot shower this morning
3) driving out to Enchanted Rock State Park, it's beautiful and green around Austin right now

I'm back...

I'm worn out, and I have no hot water, but I have returned.
To catch up for the week, I'll just post five things about my whole trip:

1) touching a stingray at Seaworld, they're a bit slimy
2) little cranes or herons of some sort in every little bit of water along the roads
3) a cool striped red, yellow, and blue fish in the aquarium at the hotel
4) seeing fireworks from my hotel room at night
5) making all my connections, and not getting stuck in Dallas (4 hours away) on the way home

Happy Father's Day!
Even though my dad is no longer here, I am thinking of him today.

I have to go to Orlando next week for work, so the blog will be on hiatus temporarily.

Today:
1) a surprise phone call from my mom this morning
2) chocolate-covered strawberries before brunch
3) taking the piles of newspapers that have built up in my kitchen out to be recycled
4) sunflowers along the median on my street
5) listening to the rain on the roof during a sudden afternoon shower

2) matching undies (even though no one will see but me)
3) a friend offering to watch my cats while I have to travel on business
4) making plans to go to the coast for a long weekend
5) singing along to one of my favorite songs on the radio

Where does the time go?

Today:
1) reading a story about traffic stopping to wait for a family of cranes to cross the road
2) a great conversation at lunch about a friend's plan to work three jobs and then write at night because "when you're happy, you don't need as much sleep"
3) going to yoga again for the first time in a long while
4) the smell of rain in the air right before it started to just pour
5) seeing an ice cream truck on the way home

How can it be Monday again already?

Today:
1) kitty bellies waiting for rubs when I got up
2) a friendly lunch with the heartbreak guy
3) hearing a coworker's good news about getting a new job
4) a relatively stress-free day at work
5) this adorable LJ icon

Lazy Sunday

Today:
1) it's still the weekend
2) sleeping late
3) brunch with friends after they finished a triathlon (grats, guys!)
4) one of my favorite movies on TV
5) petting a warm, soft, sleepy kitty

Monday, Monday...

Today:
1) overhearing a conversation about giant radioactive ants
2) sitting outside in the sunshine at lunch (before it started to rain)
3) the sun coming out again in between rain showers
4) taking a hot bath with white tea salt scrub
5) watching TV with a kitty snoozing on me

Expanding this a bit to include things which make me smile, still akin to happiness, just not eaxctly the same thing.

Despite the torrents of rain...

Today:
1) seeing a family of cows sleeping in the grass
2) extra dark chocolate from Hershey's
3) helping out a friend
4) finally shampooing the carpets in my truck
5) finishing a really great series of books

Missed a couple days...

Today:
1) cashing in all my spare change to the tune of almost $55
2) visiting a coworker's gorgeous house on Lake Travis
3) a cardinal in the trees
4) a coyote running across the road on the way home
5) catching a block of Futurama episodes on Cartoon Network
