3) a squirrel nibbling on a tuft of grass
4) new pillows and a pillowtop mattress pad for my bed
5) being able to order pizza online (yes, I have a slight phone phobia)

Friday the 13th

Today:
1) spending the last several days visiting with a good friend who lives out of town
2) wearing my favorite t-shirt and Converse to work
3) pictures of fennec foxes on Cute Overload!
4) happy hour to celebrate a friend's upcoming wedding
5) crawling into bed knowing it's finally the weekend

Blue Monday

Today:
1) mockingbirds in the parking lot
2) lunch with the heartbreak guy again
3) a relatively stress-free day at work
4) a little girl having the best time "driving" a cart at the grocery store
5) a nice, clean apartment ready for houseguests

Lazy, lazy...

I have been decadently, almost shamefully lazy all weekend. Life has been kicking my ass lately, and something has got to change. I just have to summon some energy first.

So today (and all weekend really) I've been thinking about one big thing that makes me happy.

1) my friends near and far, I love you all even though I'm not always the best at keeping in touch and letting you know

I'll return to my regularly scheduled programming on Monday.

Still damp, but getting better

Today:
1) learning about a breast cancer foundation that takes wedding dress donations
2) my horoscope again today

3) getting through a very stressful day at work
4) smelling fresh cut grass on the way home
5) this adorable little guinea pig at C.O. who looks kinda like I feel right now

2) exchanging a really friendly smile with a woman grooving to music in her car at the grocery store parking lot
3) finishing The Golden Compass series of books, I want a daemon of my own
4) freshly washed sheets
5) a surprise phone call

Today:
1) getting off work early for a holiday
2) taking the stairs for the second day in a row (gotta start somewhere!)
3) lunch out with a friend
4) finches on my balcony
5) getting the mail twice in one day (I forget to get it yesterday)

New month, new week, fresh start...

Today:
1) squirrels everywhere this morning doing their squirrel things
2) a little bird landing on my windowsill at work & chirping at me before flying away
3) finally getting some storage space to declutter my apartment a bit
4) snuggling up in bed with a teddy bear
5) this passage in a book I'm reading:
