1) I did not get laid off today.
2) After sharing my dating woes with my mom, she called back to tell me this quote from Jane Austen: "The more I know of the world, the more I am convinced that I shall never see a man whom I can really love."
(edit: neither one of us really believe that, but it did make us laugh)
